24Petwatch Microchip Registry to Transition to PetPlace.com
The move will connect shelters, rescues, veterinarians, and pet parents through a unified digital ecosystem
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
[New York, NY] — December 11th, 2025 — 24Pet by PetPlace today announced that the 24Petwatch Microchip Registry will officially transition to PetPlace.com in 2026, creating a more connected, modernized experience for pet adopters and the animal welfare organizations that support them.
The shift to PetPlace.com is part of 24Pet’s $15 million investment in technology, innovation, and collaboration — a company-wide initiative to strengthen the pet care ecosystem through its One Effective Network approach. This strategy connects shelters, rescues, veterinarians, and pet parents through a single digital platform designed to support pets from shelter intake and adoption through lifelong care.
“This is an exciting step toward building a more seamless experience for adopters while maintaining the same trusted protection the 24Petwatch name is known for,” said Rebecca Pollard, Vice President of Marketing and Interim President for PetPlace. “By bringing the registry to PetPlace.com, we’re giving adopters not only a home for their microchip information, but more access to tools, expert advice, and a single digital platform for pet care products and services that simplifies the post-adoption experience for everyone involved.”
What’s New for Adopters
The move to PetPlace.com expands the registry experience beyond microchip data management, offering:
- Easy access to shelter-provided records, including adoption documents.
- Thousands of expert-written pet care and training resources.
- Personalized product and service recommendations to support ongoing care.
These added benefits are designed to give pet parents more confidence and connection from the moment of adoption and beyond, supporting better retention and long-term outcomes for adopted animals.
What’s Not Changing
- The 24Petwatch Microchip Registry is not going away — pet protection and reunification services from our team of experts will remain uninterrupted.
- Microchip registration remains free for adopters.
- Shelters, rescues, and veterinary partners do not need to take any immediate action. All existing microchip data and pet parent accounts will transition automatically.
Next Steps for Partner Organizations
24Pet is updating all 24Petwatch adopter materials – including registration cards, tear pads, and other assets – to reflect the new PetPlace experience.
Pet parents with existing 24Petwatch accounts will receive direct communication in early 2026, prompting them to log in to PetPlace.com using their existing email. They will be asked to reset their password to gain access to their account to verify their microchip information.
Animal welfare partners will receive detailed FAQs, updated collateral, and continued support from their 24Pet representatives throughout the transition.
